To anyone who’s reading this: Hi. My name is W. I’m going to be one of the primary writers on this site and I’m too stoked to be doing it! For me, anime is something that taught me life lessons, introduced me to my best friends, and inspired me to do more with myself and I’d like to think that it has had a similar effect on a lot of people around the globe. Like everyone else posting here, I’m a 90’s baby who grew up with DBZ, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing/G Gundam, and Rurouni Kenshin on Toonami every day after school. While that type of experience isn’t as common anymore in western countries, it’s too exciting to see an increase in anime fandom as streaming sites, videogames, and mainstream media start to pick up on the medium. It should be a fun time talking with you all about various series I like, various things myself and others have noticed in the community, and just anything anime related in general!
When it comes to the genre of series I like, I’m a simple guy who’ll watch pretty much anything but my main interests lie in shounen, mecha, slice of life, and mystery. Regardless of the genre, there are a few inherent things that I focus on when evaluating how a series ended up being as a whole: Pacing, Writing, and Ending. For me, a series that is well paced is one that has me clamoring for another episode, one that is well written has a certain flow to character growth and interactions, and one that has a “good” ending is one that makes sure to wrap up as many loose ends as possible while not betraying the tone or themes of the story as a whole. With all of that being said, expect varied opinions, reviews, and reactions from me as we all travel this journey together!
